A Fashion Love Affair
Sunglasses Shop catches up with some of its favourite bloggers to find out the ‘whys?’ and ‘why nots?’ of blogging. Cara at AFashionLoveAffair tells us all about fashion, inspiration and the blogging community.
Why blogging? My blog began as a creative outlet where I could share my love of fashion and styling, and has quickly grown into so much more than a hobby-it has allowed me great opportunities and has connected me with wonderful people.
Favourite part of blogging? Blogging is so much fun... I am constantly pushing myself to try new things and think outside the box...shopping, styling outfits and meeting new people are definitely some of the
There really is no "worse part" about blogging for me...the only thing I would say is that because I post 5 days a week, I have to spend a lot of time thinking about and creating my posts...but I love doing it, so I am happy!
Worst thing anyone has said about your blog? People are so supportive in the blogging community-I haven't had anyone say anything negative about my blog thus far.How do you decide on content?
I am inspired by everything around me... other bloggers, designer collections, celebrity style, and what I read in magazines... I soak it all up and then create my own take on all of it on my own blog.
Favourite trends and brands? My favourite trends for spring are pretty pastels, pointed toe pumps, ankle strap heels, and print mixing, and some of my favourite designers at the moment are Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, Diane Von Furstenberg and Jenna Lyons for J.Crew.
What’s hot right now? Bright colours, peplums, floral prints, statement collars and neon are all "hot" right
Some don'ts...if you are going for the vintage 50s look, don't go too far with the accessories to make it look like a costume, or when mixing prints, make sure not to do print from head to toe...you don't need a printed hat, top, pant, bag and shoe, just do a top and skirt or pant and shoe and choose solid colours for the rest of the look to make the prints really stand out.
Who inspires you? I draw inspiration from so many different people...as far as other bloggers, Blair of Atlantic-Pacific, Jules of Sincerely Jules and Evangelie of Style Heroine are all bloggers I visit regularly, and as far as celebrities, I am inspired by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Kate Moss, Olivia Palermo and Clemence Poesy.
If you could have any pair of sunglasses... If I could have any pair of sunglasses it would be by Chloe.
Favourite accessory? My favourite accessory is a pair of chic sunglasses and a delicate necklace that hangs just in between your clavicles.
If you could have designed anything it would be... If I could have designed anything it would have been the Celine Boston Tote!
